International Congress 2006

The AIESEC World was reunited in the International Congress 2006 with the theme Solidarity for the Future, organized in Poland between 24th August and 3rd September 2006. Through series of discussions and seminars with global business, culture, science, politics, GO and NGO leaders, the Mexican delegation (leaders of the Local Committees and representatives of the Member Committee) together with more than 700 students and new graduates from 95 countries had a unique opportunity to exchange opinions and discuss the most relevant issues bothering today’s world.

The AIESEC International Congress also aims to take people’s attention to changes taking place in our country, to our culture, history, tradition but also entrepreneurship, hard work and modernity.

The most important events of the International Congress 2006 were: Opening Ceremony, Global Village, Polish Night Celebration, Learning Networks Day – “Solidarity for the Future”, Networking Dinner, Partner Fair, Official Dinner, Alumni Congress and You Can! Conference.

Lech Wałęsa, former President of Poland (1990-1995) and founder of the Solidarity Movement addressed participants during the congress at the start of Learning Networks Day – Solidarity for the Future on August 28. During this day simultaneous discussion panels and sessions took place in the areas of Education, Finance, Corporate Social Responsibility, HIV/AIDS and Energy.

In an effort to engage more of AIESEC’s 20,000 student and new graduate members, a virtual platform for the conference was launched for congress delegates to share their experiences via blogs, online chats and video messaging, and members who hasn't attended can also browse session materials online at http://www.live.ic2006.pl

During International Congress 2006 in Poland we had the chance to meet representatives of Electrolux, DHL, ALCATEL, Microsoft and UBS to explore the opportunities of expanding the cooperation between this Global Partners and AIESEC in Mexico

Stakeholders Gala 2006

On August 3rd, AIESEC in Mexico held its Stakeholders Gala 2006; an event to recognize and celebrate all of the stakeholders that support AIESEC Mexico in the activities we have been realizing since 1963 in order to activate leadership in young people.

This year we had special guests as the Founder of AIESEC Mexico Lic. Jose Luis Canales, our Regional Director from AIESEC International Miss. Araz Najarian, C.P. Juan Manuel Ferron from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the leaders of our local chapters. This event enabled us to interact with all the people from Companies, Universities and leaders of the local chapters to support all our activities. Also it allowed us to introduce the MC team for term 2006-2007, as well as to present the tasks that the team will be doing this year.

AIESEC in Mexico would like to thank you for believing, trusting and being with us in this event..

Back In Touch With Alumni

August was a very exciting month for AIESEC Mexico because of two very special events. First, the Stakeholders Gala was a beautiful night to bring together many alumni of the organization and we thank you for coming. Second, we were proud to see Lic. José Luis Canales inducted to the AIESEC Hall of Fame at the International Congress in Poland. Lic. Canales was able to receive the award in person and we once again thank him deeply for his support and contribution to the organization.

In this month, AIESEC in Mexico started Alumni Survey in order to know more about our alumni to be able to communicate them considering how they want to be involved in AIESEC. The answers of the survey help us to strengthen our relations. If you are an alumni and still haven't answered the survey we would kindly ask you to answer it on the Alumni Survey Page.

Reminder: On Wednesday, September 27 there will be a social meeting for alumni in the bar of the restaurant Freedom on Insurgentes at 20:00.
