Corporate Responsibility Day - COME AND JOIN US!

In order to strengthen the chance to give our members and partners a Corporate Responsibility (CR) experience through AIESEC, AIESEC in Mexico is organizing the 2006 2007 CR Day, which will take place the 27th of October in the Monterrey Tec campus in Córdoba Veracruz. The day, which will be held during all the agenda, will be comprised of 3 conferences which aim to leverage and get our audience conscious about the topic, 1 panel of externals which will gather different perspectives around the topic, 16 workshops in which our invited companies will showcase their best CR case practices and 20 learning circles comprised of AIESEC members, everything under a complete and dynamic learning environment, as only AIESEC can produce it.

We invite to know more about this day and share your thoughts with us. For further information and invitation please contact Sebastian Bustamante

National Products Portfolio Launch

It is a pleasure for us to let all out network know about a great improvement that AIESEC in Mexico has taken in order to give our members the opportunity to live a wide and deep AIESEC Experience and at the same time, the correct opportunities for external companies and organizations to engage and activate their leadership with us.

Our National Products Portfolio is deeply aligned with our strategy and aims to involve organizations for the right reasons reaching this way the right contribution from their side. Besides, we break the history of the exchanges made in the traditional way, and we put them in a complete Corporate Responsibility or Entrepreneurship frame. Our partners, through this portfolio, will impact directly the elements of the learning of our members.

If you want to know more about the opportunities our Portfolio involves, don't hesitate to ask us.

Involving Outside For Right Reasons

This month the national strategy which aims to support the Local Committees about their achievement of greater number of partners is launched. It also includes a new National Segmentation System to identify the best companies to partner with and also a new tracking system to provide a high quality service to our partners. "Involving the outside for the right reasons" is our target for this year.

The regional partnership with The McGraw-Hill Companies have accomplished the first year with the America's Region. The company stated their pleasure about the partnership with these words:

"AIESEC traineeship program has helped us accelerate our culture change strategy, and after a year is now bringing consistent and lasting results from talented individuals from various countries. They have demonstrated leadership, accountability, drive for results, but mainly a sense of "we can do it, through active participation""

Matthew H. Wyatt
The McGraw-Hill Companies, Finance and Operations VP for Latin America/Hispanic Regions

National Web Page Re-Creation

In order to communicate the right message through the external environment, AIESEC in Mexico has re-created the national web page. The new webpage is completely aligned with the AIESEC identity, and equipped with the knowledge to inform the people and organizations who wants to know what AIESEC is, and how to cooperate with AIESEC in Mexico. The English version has been re-created, however the Spanish version is going to be online by 20th of October. To learn more about AIESEC and AIESEC in Mexico, please visit our new national web page.

Learning and Continuity

Considering the high number of extraordinary elections for Human Capital Directors, we have put a special focus on creating knowledge and achieving a greater continuity in the area. Besides increasing the  contact with local committees Human Capital Coordinators, the Activities Libraries for all areas and all stages of engagement in AIESEC have received a complete polish up. The Activities Library is a tool that states the competencies a member should have at the beginning and at the end of the position as well as obligatory and optional activities to foster their development including self-driven learning material, trainings and conferences.

Another really useful tool is the new Transition Guide which will support all new Human Capital Directors to get started by asking the right questions to their predecessor and motivate the outgoing director to provide a high-quality transition. This material is a short but practical guide is supposed to anticipate questions that usually occur later into the work when transition is over and that gives the elected person a clue of what he should know. Besides this, the guide stresses the importance of giving and receiving transition since the topic is usually not taken sufficiently into account.

Join the Mentoring & Coaching Program

Do remember when you were an active member and how the slightest interaction with older members or Alumni or externals would inspire you? Did you feel like you learned a lot personally and professionally from these people? AIESEC Mexico wants to create more of these experiences for our current members through our Mentorship & Coaching Program and we are looking for Alumni and professionals from all fields that would like to participate.

What does it mean to be a Mentor?
A Mentor would help a university student on their path to achieving their personal goals by asking questions and guiding him/her in the process of identifying opportunities and challenges. It is one of the most powerful ways to create an impact.

What does it mean to be a Coach?
Every Local Committee in AIESEC Mexico is working with at least one project and the role of the Coach is to guide and give advice so that the member can achieve his/her goals for the project and grow professionally

To share your experience with a current member, please contact Gwendolyn Price

Best Regards,
