New Leaders are Selected!
AIESEC Mexico is very proud to announce that we had elected two
of the leaders that will be guiding the country for the next term.
This two passionate and committed leaders are :
Octavio Soto (Member Committee President elected) and
Mariana Montiel (Vice President in AIESEC in Mexico elected)
It was a great experience that we could share with the people of our
National LDS who for sure in the future will be running for these
positions. This happen at CONAL, our National Conference, during the
second week of January at Culiacan, Sinaloa. It was the first
conference ever in this city and we are proud of the team that
brought together the conference as they facilitate us the delivery
of two parallel agendas.
As you can see there are still positions in the MC available and if
you didn't decide to apply during CONAL, this is your last change to
turn your life into a great AIESEC eXPerience and be part of the
leadership team of AIESEC Mexico for the term 07-08.
The MC 06-07 also wants to congratulate to Sebastian Bustamante who
was elected as Member Committee President in Southern Cone!! Join us
in the celebration by sending him some words to
his email.
Leadership Development Seminar Was Held in Culiacan
A step forward in the Leadership Development of 50 young
AIESECers
2007 was the first year that AIESEC in Mexico combined the National
Conference with the Leadership Development Seminar. The two parallel
agendas offer the advantage to learn mutually from the current
leadership team in the organization and new leadership attitudes
rising in our youngest members. This idea was futher supported by
the election of next generation of the national leadership team (see
'New Leaders are Selected' section).
10 New Mentorship Relations
Thanks to the Interest Group AIESEC Panamericana, AIESEC in
Mexico realized their first Mentorship Match-up Event last Thursday.
The objective of the networking evening was to find Mentors for our
Local Executive Board members that will counsel them on leadership
questions and help them to accomplish their personal vision. Mentors
should therefore have passed the phase their mentee is in and count
on rich professional experience. Between the 35 present Local Board
member and AIESEC Alumni, we are happy to say that we could announce
10 matches. They will continue with their mentorship relation until
the end of their term in June. We are currently doing a back-up
round for people who could not attend the event but would like to
get involved.
National External Relations Meeting. Success!
 |
In order to strengthen the national External Relations (ER)
leadership pipeline, the results orientation at local level and the
education in our national tools, the past 8, 9 and 10 of January was
held the first National ER Meeting in the Sinaloa Unviersity in
Culiacán. It counted with the participation of the first 15 pioneers
of the ER who will be responsible to take all the knowledgement and
know how created in the meeting to the local level.
The meeting was comprised of several blocks, among which we can
outline the AIESEC strategy one, the Critical Success factors review
and the practical workshops created to make our ER members more
capable to sell and network AIESEC.
With this meeting, we give a strong step in order to make of AIESEC
in Mexico a sustainable organization, both at national and local
levels. We thank all the members who assisted and we encourage them
all to take concrete action in order to produce concrete changes in
the External Relations in their LCs.
National ER Meeting ! Success.
In hopes of achieving greater recognition for the amazing things
that are occurring in AIESEC, an article was published on January 22
by the newspaper Reforma with the title “Forjan en AIESEC a futuros
líderes - Promueven agentes de cambio” after an interview held with
two members of the national team. These kinds of publications will
do much to promote our image as an organization that activates
leadership in young people to have a positive impact in society.
Let’s make AIESEC a household name!
Every year AIESEC Mexico holds an end of the year event in Mexico
City to celebrate Christmas with the members and this time we
invited Alumni as well. A traditional Posada was held on December 15
with the members and Alumni of AIESEC Mexico. The Posada was a
relaxed gathering to reflect on the past year and spend time with
friends while enjoying the tamales and breaking the piñata. Thanks
to all of those who participated and made this event a success.
